Transmutations, tensegrity, and tesselation all have a special place in my heart. Today however we will be talking about Torsion, namely a torsion bridge. This was the first torsion experiment I had worked on that utilized a 66 point attractor for each cable to adjust to and connect the cable to an individual spacer into each section of the structure. This was one of the first torsion bridges and so there were many details that still needed more attention and required more finessing and tweaking the process to get more accurate results.
The code required to design and create this torsional sculpture can be found below. The code of bridges that I have come up with can be seen to transcend and mold into the next iteration. I still have to optimize this code but for this particular section, I left it in this manner for the time being.
