Clashing and Scheduling
The construction and general PM or Project Management was a very interesting part of the project. I estimated the lifting alignment and placement of all parts with a total slack added in order to have a high degree of feasibility or early completion with time available for complications slotted. It was then up to go through and check for clashing, and any related issues and deal with them in order to get to schedule the rest of the items and make any updates.
Dividing the tasks for each individual part of the project allowed the entire collaboration to come together rapidly by layering. This allowed individuals to focus on each part in order to get the timeline and connect and all the activities required around each post going in and or the piles being driven, concrete pouring, etc. Once all of these activities were determined and scheduled then a simulation was created in order to determine how the construction assembly looks like, determine safety concerns during different times of the build, and satisfies clients' worries by being able to visualize their project at a great level of detail - such as that seen below.
Path Modality
The most difficult part at this part of the project was aligning the basement passage to the possible subway or underground tunnel to the upper walkway by the 3 elevators. I had to mode some columns and other supports along with the original walkway to allow for the lower walkway passages required to be able to move around if you have mobility difficulties. Once this was completed the rest of the structure and PM tasks fell in line quite neatly including the cross bracing and cross tensioning members. All of this while still allowing for some odd but required columns flowing through the basement that required some planning to get everything to accommodate enough room for safe passage and fire exits.
